Saturday was spent as another day of much needed rest and relaxation. A group of us went to look around at the giant mall in Pattaya. While we were there we got garra rufa massages. That’s when little fishes eat the dead skin off of your feet. It was so funny, we were laughing really hard because it tickled a lot and people kept stopping to look at this group of screaming, giggling American girls with their legs in tanks of fishes. Yesterday we arrived in Chiang Rai. The city has a completely different atmosphere than Pattaya. It feels like we’re away from a tourist destination and really experiencing Thailand. Last night we walked around at the night bazaar and ate dinner in the market, where they offered such delicacies as maggots, crickets, and cockroaches. None of us could muster up the courage to actually try any of these. Today, we’re going to visit a school, meet the children, and do homestays with some of them and tomorrow we’re going to do a service project. More to come on those after they actually happen. Please be praying for our health and strength, for the families that will be housing us, for the people we meet and serve, and that God would bring glory to His name in all He does through us. Currently meditating on Isaiah 58:6-11.
