Over the past couple of days, there have been a lot of changes to our trip. There has been a lot of political unrest in Bangkok lately, and Westmont College decided that that part of our trip would be too much of a risk, so we will be skipping Bangkok and going to Pattaya instead. Although we’ll be missing the Red Light Districts in Bangkok, we will encountering much of the same thing in Pattaya. We’re trusting God with this whole trip, with all the changes, and praying for His guidance. Meanwhile, we’re continuing to learn, to be stretched, and to prepare our hearts for everything that’s ahead. I have to share: today I received a letter in the mail from a friend that was so wonderfully encouraging and inspiring, it brought tears to my eyes. I got it right at the point when I was beginning to feel completely overwhelmed and wondering how God could possibly use me. The Lord is so good. I want to walk through this trip in a way in which I can expect these miracles from Him. I just realized…I’m leaving tomorrow night. We’re getting on a plane and flying for fourteen hours and arriving in Thailand. Wow. Please be praying for the situation in Thailand, for peace and freedom. And please pray for a safe journey and flexibility and strength to receive what the Lord gives us. All glory by to God. D.V.
