Thailand and Cambodia Trip
And we begin…

Arrived in San Francisco today! I was up till 1am packing and got up at 5:30 to catch my 7:55 flight. I was the first one to arrive at the house about 3 hours ahead of schedule, so I decided to go to a coffee shop near the house to read. Little did I think of the other plans God had for me. I took a wrong turn and ended up walking past Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, an African-American church with the most beautiful worship simply bursting through the walls. I just felt the Holy Spirit telling me, “You’re going in there” and in I went, where I was greeted by a group of amazing people with an inspiring love of the Lord. Praise and glory be to God! After the rest of the group arrived at the house, we had dinner and then an introduction time where we discussed our hopes and fears for the trip. I’m so excited to get to know this wonderful group of people. My fears for this trip are that I will be spending too much of the time focused on myself or on those suffering, and not enough time focusing on the God who experiences our suffering with us and brings healing in the midst of it. My hope is not only to see what God will do on this trip, but also to see more of who God is. I’m trying to catch my breath before all the craziness begins tomorrow, but the Lord definitely provided me with a lot of the rest I needed today. Please pray for the hopes and fears of those going, that God would shape our hopes to match what He desires to give us, and that His perfect love would cast out our fears. P.S. Happy Mother’s Day! I love you, Mommy.
